Pine and Bedford's Soleseife is a soap of German origin that is part of the Salt Collection and is made from pink Himalayan saltwater/brine. Soleseife pronounced "Zo-Luh-sigh-fuh", is similar to asalt soap in that it helps detoxify and balance natural oils but it does not provide exfoliation. This soap is fragranced with Lemongrass Essential Oil and has added coconut milk and spinach powder for vitamins and antioxidants.
We compensate for the drying properties of the salt brine by adding extra moisturizing oil to ensure this will not be drying to the skin. This Lemongrass version is a white colour and although it has been cured for 6 weeks, it will get whiter as it continues to dry (particularly on the bottom and edges). You may witness drying but drying will not affect the performance of the soap.
This Soleseife bar is made in the form of a chrysanthemum flower-shaped dome. It weighs approximately: 87 g / 3.1 oz and measures approximately: 6.8 cm / 2.75 inches in diameter.
I have always wanted to make a Soleseife soap and my friend Sherry was asking for a Lemongrass scented soap. I put the two together in this wonderful blend.
